ŠKODA IN POKRAJINSKI UČINKI VEČJIH NARAVNIH NESREČ
Povzetek
V članku opisujemo družbenogospodarske učinke naravnih nesreč v svetovnem merilu med letoma 1995 in 2011. Ob pregledu največjih naravnih nesreč so razloženi vzroki za naraščajočo škodo, ki je zaradi njih nastala v obravnavanem obdobju. Najti poskušamo vzroke za značilno globalno razporeditev naravnih nesreč in njihovo škodo primerjamo z razvitostjo držav oziroma z njihovim bruto družbenim proizvodom (BDP). Obsežne naravne nesreče v manjših nerazvitih državah vzamejo tudi nekajkratnik letnega BDP, medtem ko je njihov vpliv na gospodarstvo razvitih držav manj zaznaven in obsega največ nekaj odstotkov BDP. V zadnjem delu članka so z javno dostopnimi satelitskimi posnetki na kratko slikovno predstavljeni pokrajinski učinki največjih naravnih nesreč leta 2011, tako po številu žrtev kot po škodi, ki so jo povzročile.
