NAJMOČNEJŠI POTRESI PO SVETU LETA 2022
Povzetek
Leta 2022 je bilo po svetu 43 potresov magnitude 6,5 ali več. Noben potres ni imel magnitude, večje ali enake 8,0, enajst pa jih je imelo magnitudo med 7,0 in 7,9. Vsaj 30 potresov je zahtevalo človeška življenja, skupaj je bilo vsaj 1760 žrtev. Najmočnejša potresa leta 2022 sta imela magnitudo 7,6, oba sta se zgodila septembra. Prvi je nastal 10. septembra na Papui Novi Gvineji v globini 117 kilometrov, drugi 19. septembra v Mehiki v globini 26 kilometrov. Največ žrtev, vsaj 1163, je zahteval potres 21. junija v Afganistanu magnitude 6,0. Močen potres je 11. januarja stresel tudi Ciper, z magnitudo 6,6 je bil to najmočnejši potres tega leta v Evropi.
