CLIMATIC CONDITIONS IN SLOVENIA IN 2019 AND 2020
Abstract
At the national level, the average annual temperature in 2019 was 1.7°C above the 1981-2010 normal, and was thus the second highest. In 2020 the temperature anomaly was 1.3°C. No extremely high or low temperatures were observed. In both years May was the only month with a mean temperature below the normal. At the national level, precipitation was 9% above the long-term average in 2019, and in 2020 it was in line with it. In 2019 sunny weather exceeded the long-term average by 6%, and in 2020 by 12%. On Kredarica, the maximum snow cover depth in 2019 amounted to 385cm, and in 2020 to 350cm.
