FLOODS AROUND THE WORLD IN 2020
Abstract
In 2020, there were as many as 459 major floods across the world, and a total of 3923 flood casualties (compared to 4314 in 2019). Most floods occurred in South and South-East Asia. Africa and South America also had many flood events; 101 on each continent. In 2020, floods caused the most damage of all natural disasters.
