Abstract

During the monitoring period, the transport of suspended solids in rivers was greatly increased several times. This is usually caused by natural processes in the river basin, but occasionally the reason is human intervention in the riverbed or riparian land. Increased content and transport of suspended solids in water mean changed living conditions for aquatic organisms. By continuously monitoring the dynamics of suspended solids and the amount of water in the riverbed, we can fairly accurately determine the intensity of the transport of suspended solids, and assess its consequences.
