FIREFIGHTING SCHOOL PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
Abstract
The Firefighting School operates within the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief as a department within a sector of the Training Centre for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief of the Republic of Slovenia in Ig. The school’s main tasks are the execution of basic and more demanding additional vocational training for professional and voluntary firefighters, the execution of international training, and other courses related to the use and maintenance of firefighting equipment. It provides logistic support to the additional training of voluntary firefighters carried out by the Firefighting Association of Slovenia at the Firefighting School’s training range. The most challenging training carried out by the Firefighting School is the Training programme for the profession of firefighter.
