FLASH FLOOD IN TRŽIČ IN OCTOBER 2018
Abstract
The residents of Tržič will remember 2018 as the year of a terrible storm and terrifying raging torrents which cut off 190 residents of Jelendol from the rest of the world, causing enormous material damage to the municipality and numerous individuals. The municipal administration and the firefighting and civil protection services did an excellent job, and probably prevented the worst by being well-organized and responding immediately, so that the natural disaster caused no fatalities. This article presents the progress of the emergency response and the development of the situation by area, and considers important future challenges posed by this natural disaster.
