DISASTER IN TRŽIČ IN OCTOBER 2018: VIEW FROM THE SITE

Abstract

After the meteorological disaster in Železniki and Davča in September 2007, nature once again demonstrated its unstoppable power in the Gorenjska region, in Dolina and Jelendol, Tržič, at the end of October 2018. The citizens pulled together, and firefighters, volunteers, charitable organizations and the municipal leadership really prevailed, immediately commencing relief and clean-up operations. The estimated damage was approximately 13 million EUR. Assistance was provided to all affected people, while rehabilitation of the site will continue for a long time due to its complexity.
