ACCESS TIMES OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL ASSISTANCE TEAMS IN THE ZGORNJESAVINJSKA REGION
Abstract
In the article, we want to show the importance of the access time of emergency medical services in one of the more distant regions of Slovenia – “Zgornjesavinjska regija”. The survey included emergency medical assistance interventions for a period of five years, from 1 January 2013 to 31 December 2017. We analyzed 3076 interventions. The access times of emergency medical assistance teams are among the quality indicators of the service, so it is important, within the framework of the analysis of quality, to monitor and analyze them and, if necessary, plan some improvements. The fact is that the region is very branched and covers remote hilly areas. Transport to reception hospitals is also remote, which increases the occupancy of ambulances. Nevertheless, we found that the access time of the emergency medical service is in accordance with the professional requirements that are valid in Slovenia and abroad.
