RECENT CHANGES IN THE FIELD OF CIVIL PROTECTION IN THE EUROPEAN UNION (EU)
Abstract
The increased number of natural and man-made disasters calls for enhanced cooperation of EU Member States in joint disaster management. The Union Civil Protection Mechanism has been developed as one of the key platforms for joint activities in the last 20 years. In 2019, an amendment of the Mechanism was adopted which introduces major changes in the field of prevention activities and the creation of additional reserve capacities for rescEU.
