Abstract

In 2016 the Seismic Network of the Republic of Slovenia recorded 2133 local earthquakes, at least 118 of which were felt by the inhabitants. There were 22 earthquakes with a local magnitude equal to or higher than 2.0. The strongest earthquake in Slovenia in 2016, with a local magnitude of 3.4, was observed on 9 April at 13:02 UTC near Brežice. Its maximum intensity was V EMS-98. Some of the inhabitants of Slovenia felt also five regional earthquakes with epicentres in Central Italy.
