Abstract

In 2015, wind speed was average in the majority of Slovenia, but it was above average in the eastern part of the Krško-Brežice Plain and the Bizeljske gorice hills, and below average in the areas surrounding the Karst Edge and in parts of the Upper Sava valley. As had been the case for several years in a row, the extent of damage caused by winds was minor and limited locally. A hurricane-force bora wind occurred between 4 and 7 February, but did not result in extensive damage. The majority of wind damage occurred between 19 and 24 May and during storms on 8–9 July and 25–26 July.
