Abstract

In 2015 the Seismic Network of the Republic of Slovenia (SNRS) recorded 2886 local earthquakes, 25 of which had a local magnitude equal or higher than 2.0. The inhabitants felt at least 116 earthquakes, 2 among them caused minor damage. The maximum intensity in Slovenia in 2015, VII EMS-98, was observed on 1 November at 7:52 UTC (8:52 Central European Time (CET)) in the villages in Gorjanci Mountains. It was the strongest earthquake in 2015, with local magnitude 4.2. An earthquake that also caused minor damage happened on 29 August with the epicentre near Bovec. Its local magnitude was 3.9, and the maximum intensity V EMS-98.
