RECEPTION AND CARE OF MIGRANTS AT THE VRHNIKA ACCOMMODATION CENTRE
Abstract
Between 19 October 2015 and 20 November 2015, the Vrhnika accommodation centre received and serviced some 11,000 migrants who only stayed at the centre overnight and then continued their journey to the Republic of Austria. In the period from 19 February to 21 March 2016 there were 226 migrants staying at the centre; these were returnees from other countries, particularly members of vulnerable groups (families with children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with disabilities). Of these, 109 migrants left the centre voluntarily, twelve were returned to the Republic of Croatia, and 115 applied for asylum and were transferred to the Ljubljana asylum centre. From the second half of March 2016, the Vrhnika accommodation centre is ready to accept new migrants.
