Abstract

In 2014 the Seismic Network of the Republic of Slovenia (SNRS) recorded 5413 local earthquakes, 39 of which had a local magnitude higher than or equal to 2.0. The inhabitants felt more than 245 earthquakes, 3 of them caused minor damage. The maximum intensity VI EMS-98 was observed on 13 March at 18:31 UTC (19:31 Central European Time (CET)) in Suha krajina. Local magnitude of this earthquake was 3.7. The strongest earthquake in 2014 happened on 22 April at 8:58 UTC (10:58 Central European Summer Time (CEST)) with the epicenter near Pivka. Its local magnitude was 4.4 and the maximum intensity V–VI EMS-98.
