CLIMATE IN SLOVENIA IN 2013
Abstract
The mean annual temperature in 2013 was above the 1961–1990 normals, with the anomaly between 1 and 2 °C. Most of the months were warmer than the long-term average. During the most distinctive heat wave that occurred in the first third of August, many measuring sites recorded the highest temperature ever. The absolute maximum of 40.6 °C was recorded in Maribor. The highest amount of precipitation fell in the Posočje region; some measuring sites recorded more than 2800 mm. Towards the east and south, precipitation amount decreased. In most of the country, precipitation exceeded the normals, most of anomalies were below 20%. Bright sunshine duration was close to the normals, the anomaly was between ±10%.
