HIGH WATERS IN SLOVENIA IN 2013
Abstract
2013 was characterized by two periods of increased water stages causing floods: the early spring, when great water stages were caused by heavy precipitation and the melting of abundant snowfall, and in November. Most flood events in that year occurred in the eastern part of Slovenia, mostly in the area between the Kolpa River to the south and the Pohorje Hills to the north. Thankfully, floods in that year neither caused substantial damage nor claimed any human lives.
