PREPARATION OF THE BASIS FOR THE SLOVENIAN NATIONAL ACTION PLAN (NAP) FOR DROUGHT MANAGEMENT
Abstract
In Slovenia, the cost of the mitigation of drought consequences in agriculture is considerable. Unfortunately, institutions are inconsistent in addressing the field of drought and have ill-defined responsibilities. It is very important for Slovenia to prepare a National Action Plan for Drought Management (NAP). As a first step, the Biotechnical Faculty, on behalf of the Slovenian Environment Agency (EARS) has prepared the basis for the Slovenian NAP. The paper presents the course of preparation of the document and the final conclusions, which will serve as a basis for the preparation of the NAP.
