Abstract

The article describes an automated emergency call, eCall. All new vehicles in the European Union, after 2015, will have to be equipped with a device which will automatically transmit an emergency call in the case of an accident. eCall can also be a base for or a supplement to a variety of services to ensure greater human security in the context of smart cities. This requires not only technologically advanced smart city but also free Internet network which will be accessible to everyone.
