FIREFIGHTER EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Abstract

As in the previous years, Slovenian volunteer and professional fire-fighters attended several education and training sessions which were organised within their units and fire-fighter associations at the regional and national level. These events were attended by more than ten thousand fire-fighters. Some of the contents which have been presented to the training participants during these sessions will be discussed in this article. We visited the candidates for professional fire-fighters who were trained at the Training Centre for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief of the Republic of Slovenia in Ig near Ljubljana. Also, we attended the second performance of the Heavy Rescue Slovenia event which took place in Ljubljana, and the third examination of the training level of the fire-fighting units in Postojna, offering relief in a traffic accident.
