CLIMATE IN SLOVENIA IN 2011
Abstract
The annual mean temperature in 2011 was above the 1961–1990 normal, with the anomaly between 1 and 2 °C, ranking this year among the warmest since the beginning of measurements. On Kredarica, the average annual temperature was 0.2 °C, which is the highest mean air temperature ever recorded. Most of the months in 2011 were warmer than the long-term average. The warmest months were September and, in the mountains, November. In September, the deviation exceeded 3 °C, while in the mountains, November’s temperatures were 4.3 °C higher than usual. All over the country, less precipitation than usual was recorded, but the shortage did not exceed 50 %. The record low value was recorded in Ljubljana, Novo mesto and Portorož. Bright sunshine duration was well above normal.
