Abstract

The Cave Rescue Squad is the operational unit of the Velenje Coal Mine rescue service. In the event of disasters and other threats it organises and carries out rescue operations, performs all necessary work in the areas at risk and provides first aid to the injured and diseased people in caves. Due to the specific knowledge and skills for working in fumigated areas and the provision of first aid, the Cave Rescue Squad is integrated in the national protection and rescue system.
