PUBLIC RESCUE SERVICES IN SLOVENIA
Abstract
Starting points for the operation of the public rescue services and certain aspects of a comparative analysis of the different public rescue services in Slovenia are presented in this article. According to the Act on Protection Against Natural and Other Disasters, certain providers of protection and rescue and relief services have the status of a public service for protection, rescue and relief. The public rescue services include 43,000 volunteers and 1,000 professional rescuers who are, together, dispatched to around 10,000 incidents annually.
