WAP112, TEXT EMERGENCY CALLS TO 112

Abstract

This article describes a text emergency call service WAP112 mostly intended for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Technical solutions and plans for further developments are described. Proposals for changes and supplements to the electronic telecommunications act are introduced. This will enable the further development of emergency call services to 112. The Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief has received an international award for its WAP112 service.
