THE BOOK SEISMIC ACTIVITY OF THE UPPER POSOČJE AREA

Abstract

The Seismology and Geology Office, part of the Environmental Agency of the Republic of Slovenia, issued a book on the 10th anniversary of the earthquake in the upper Posočje area. The book titled »The seismic activity of the upper Posočje area« provides an account of past seismic events in that area, its geological and seismological characteristics, seismic hazards and risks, as well as an analysis of the events in the period 1998-2004. The book by the author Dr Renato Vidrih is a comprehensive bilingual monography comprising 509 pages. In addition to opulent text material, it includes several photographs of damages inflicted upon the nature and buildings, as well as many illustrations.
