CLIMATE IN 2006
Abstract
The mean annual temperature in 2006 was everywhere above the 1961–1990 normals; it was up to 1 °C warmer in Koroška, Kočevsko and Goričko region, and 1,5 °C in Ljubljana with surroundings and the Novo mesto region. In Ljubljana, at the Coast and on Kredarica only four years were warmer than 2006. The absolute maximum temperature on the Coast was among the highest ones. Precipitation in 2006 was also most abundant in the Julian Alps. The long-term average precipitation from 1961–1990 was exceeded only in Murska Sobota with surroundings. The long-term average duration of bright sunshine was exceeded everywhere except in the valley of Slovenj Gradec. Quite unusual was The abundant snow at the beginning of March was quite unusal and caused considerable traffic problems and damage to vegetation.
