LOW FLOW ANALYSIS OF SLOVENIAN RIVERS IN 2006
Abstract
Mean daily discharges were below the periodic mean values for more than half of 2006 on most Slovenian rivers. Discharges were lowest in July and in the autumn and winter months. Mean monthly discharges in these months were in the range of mean low periodic discharges. The lowest discharges in 2006 did not reach the lowest periodic discharges anywhere in Slovenia. The return period of low flows was from 2 to 5 years in most of Slovenia, in the northeastern part of Slovenia to 10 years. Low discharges were a result of lower precipitation, which was below average in 2006, especially in the last quarter of the year.
