STORM WINDS IN SLOVENIA IN 2006

Abstract

Windiness in Slovenia was average in 2006. As each year, particularly expressed this year and last, wind caused damage in the cold part of the year during ‘burja’ in Primorska, and in the middle of the year throughout Slovenia during storms. The worst storm struck Slovenia on 29 June, causing storm damage on Jelovica. The main road in Vipavska dolina was closed to traffic for various lengths of time on a total of 46 days.
