TAKE-OVER AND UP-GRADING THE SYSTEM OF PUBLIC ALARMS ON A LOCAL LEVEL
Abstract
The article describes the present and future plan of the system of public alarms in the Republic of Slovenia. The state provides the system of public alarms on national and regional levels, while local communities are responsible on the local level. By 2011, the state will also take responsibility for the local part. The radio element of the system of public alarms will be upgraded at the same time as the take-over of the system of public alarms on a local level. The majority of sirens will in future be connected to the system through radio communication. During the up-grading, the existing radio eqipment will be replaced by DMR radio equipment.
