OPENING OF THE SEISMIC NETWORK OF SLOVENIA
Abstract
The opening of the Seismic Network of Slovenia took place on Friday 6 October 2006 at Vojsko nad Idrijo, where a seismic station with analogue instruments has been operating since 1984, and it is now fitted with modern digital instruments and is one of the 25 seismic stations in the national network. Prof. dr. Peter Suhadolc, Secretary General of the International Association of Seismology and Physics of the Earth’s Interior (IASPEI) and the Director General of the Environmental Agency of Slovenia, Dr. Silvo Žlebir, had introductory speeches. The Seismic Network of Slovenia was formally opened by State Secretary at the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning, mag. Marko Starman.
