AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT 2006 EXERCISE
Abstract
An exercise was held at Brnik Airport on Saturday 14 October 2006 on the theme of an aircraft accident, by which the readiness and training of protection, rescue and first aid forces for such an event were checked. Because of the need for undisturbed operations at Ljubljana Airport, the exercise was limited in time and space and intended only for the professional public. A similar exercise was last organised at Ljubljana airport in 1993, and a protection and rescue exercise, including a search for a crashed aircraft, in 1999 in the area of Dobrča. Foreign embassies in Slovenia also took part in the exercise for the first time, based on a decision of the Finnish Embassy.
