INTERACTIVE TRAINING OF OPERATIONAL FORCES FOR PROTECTION AND RESCUE DURING ACCIDENTS WITH HAZARDOUS MATERIALS – HAZMAT TRAINING PROGRAM

Abstract

Accidents with hazardous materials are fortunately infrequent, but they are very demanding for the intervention team. An attempt has therefore been recently made in training to use an approach which will improve the theoretical and practical knowledge of first intervention services, primarily firefighters. Slovenia therefore became included in the international project, the KazMat training program, which has already produced one Slovene version of the program and a new version will be available shortly. The program is an interactive accessory for training first intervention services for accidents involving hazardous materials, which contains in addition to a theoretical content also scenarios of various accidents.
