STORM WINDS IN SLOVENIA IN 2004
Abstract
There was more wind than average in Slovenia in 2004. As every year, wind caused damage mainly during storms and ‘burja’. One person died in 2004 because of the ‘burja’ and main roads in the Vipava valley were closed for heavy vehicles for 40 days. Very strong wind blew throughout Slovenia on 14 and 19 November, which was a result of major differences in air pressure above Central Europe and above the Mediterranean. It caused a great deal of damage.
