HIGH TEMPERATURES IN JUNE 2002
Abstract
In Slovenia and on a global scale, the year 2002 was warmer than the long-term mean value. The mean yearly air temperature anomaly in Slovenia was at least 1°C. In some parts of Slovenia, June was the warmest month of the year 2002 and the warmest June since 1950. Some meteorological measuring stations measured the highest June temperatures to date, or recorded the highest number of days with maximum air temperatures above 30°C. The air temperatures in June 2002 are presented for Rateče and Maribor, where the mean air temperature anomaly was 3.6°C.
