MEASURING EARTHQUAKES
Abstract
Assessing basic earthquake parameters such as strength and location requires the use of seismographs. Seismographs are instruments that measure ground movements. They constantly track tremors, demonstrating the power of nature. Most earthquakes are weak and only detected by very sensitive equipment yet some are extremely destructive.
