Abstract

The contribution focuses on how crises are presented by the media, the journalistic value of crises, and the ways of directing the attention of the public in times of crisis. Through an analysis of responses to the press release issued by the Slovene Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief on possible difficulties upon the turnover into the year 2000, the contribution evalu[1]ates the characteristics of (un)successful communications between institutions “responsible” for crisis control and management. Special emphasis is given to the analysis of media relations in crisis communications.
