FLOODS AROUND THE WORLD IN 2022

Abstract

In 2022, there were 354 large-scale floods in the world, and a total of 5,066 flood victims (2,768 in 2021). Most of the floods were in South and South-East Asia, especially in India, Pakistan and Indonesia. There were also many floods in Colombia, Brazil and Venezuela. The most major individual flood events were recorded in the USA, a total of 27. Floods caused the most damage of the natural disasters in 2022.
