CLIMATIC CONDITIONS IN SLOVENIA IN 2016
Abstract
The mean temperature in the year 2016 was 0.5 to 1.5 °C above the 1981–2010 average. Extremely low or high temperatures were not observed in 2016. Summer heat was often interrupted by short periods of fresher weather. Sunny weather mostly exceeded the norms; the anomaly was, with the exception of the high mountains, between ±10 % of the normals. Most precipitation fell in the Julian Alps and Trnovska planota, where precipitation exceeded 2600 mm; on the other hand, on the coast and in the northeast of Slovenia only 700 to 1100 mm fell. The most uncommon events, which caused a lot of damage, were frost and snow at the end of April.
