CLIMATE IN SLOVENIA IN 1999 AND 2000 COMPARED TO THE 1961–1990 REFERENCE PERIOD
Abstract
The mean annual temperature in 1999 was above the 1961–1990 normals, the anomaly was between 0.6 and 1.2° C. Bright sunshine duration was mostly very close to the normal, the exception was Celje with the surrounding (17 % above the normals). Primorska and Notranjska got less precipitation than the 1961–1990 normals. In 2000 the mean air temperature was 1 to 3° C above the normals, also sunshine duration was above the normals. North west of the country got one fifth more precipitation than on the average in the reference period, on north east and in Dolenjska only about four fifth of the expected precipitation fall.
