CIVIL SECURITY AND CRISIS MANAGEMENT IN THE BALTIC SEA REGION

Abstract

A conference entitled Civil Security and Crisis Management in the Baltic Sea Region took place in Tallinn, Estonia from 22–24th October, 2000. The conference was attended by approximately 90 researchers and experts from the Baltic and other countries, including four from Slovenia. The participants discussed management and administration in crisis situations on different levels (local, national, international), with emphasis on the cooperation of Baltic countries. The conference was organized in line with EU recommendations and policies emphasizing the significance of strengthening cooperation between countries and local communities in this area. The conference programme included a simulation exercise.
