Članek obravnava otroštvo in mladostniške podvige v Kralju Hornu in Haveloku Danskem, romancah izgnanstva in povratka iz trinajstega stoletja, ki se osredotočata na razlaščene in izgnane plemiče in njihov uspešni povratek v domovino. Članek obravnava pot v izgnanstvo, izobrazbo in poroko kot tri bistvene pripovedne elemente v obeh romancah in tradiciji srednjeveške romance na splošno.Literatura
