Članek razpravlja o prihodnosti klasične filologije v času globalizacije ter razlikah med klasično filologijo in študijami svetovne književnosti. Najprej osvetli glavne metodološke razlike med obema področjema literarne vede, predvsem na primeru papirologije in klasičnih komentarjev, nato pa osvetli tiste vidike klasične filologije, ki najjasneje izražajo globalni pogled na književnost. Članek tako razpravlja o primerjalnem pristopu, predvsem o teoriji ustnosti, o možnosti uporabe teorije omrežij v klasični filologiji ter o recepcijski teoriji.Literatura
