Članek obravnava slovenska prevoda romanov The Whale Rider in Whanau II maorskega pisatelja Witija Ihimaere. Prevoda presoja predvsem z opazovališča uspešnosti razbiranja in rekonstrukcije kulturnozgodovinskih in slogovnih posebnosti izvirnikov v ciljni slovenski kulturi in ob tem izpostavlja nekatere prevajalske izbore, ki bi se jim v prihodnje kazalo izogniti, da bi prevodi bolje opravljali svojo povezovalno vlogo med kulturami.Literatura
