About the Journal

Aims and Scope
Primerjalna književnost (Comparative Literature, PKn) is a scientific journal published by the Slovenian Society for Comparative Literature since 1978. It is issued twice a year (from 2004 to 2025, it was published three times a year). The journal publishes original and review articles, as well as thematic sections in the fields of comparative literature, literary theory, methodology of literary studies, literary aesthetics, and other disciplines concerned with literature and its contexts. It occasionally features reviews, interviews, and other contributions. Interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged. Articles are published in Slovenian or (American) English. Unsolicited articles in English are considered for review only if they address Slovenian literature in a comparative context.

ISSN of the printed issue: 0351-1189
ISSN of the online issue: 2591-1805

Review Process
The editorial board considers only articles not under editorial review by another publication. Submitted articles undergo a preliminary review, after which the editorial board decides whether the article is generally suitable for publication in the journal. The editorial board will inform the author of acceptance into the review process within two weeks of submission. If the decision is positive, the editorial review process follows, during which the article is reviewed by at least two members of the editorial board or an external reviewer in the relevant field. The author is notified of the acceptance or rejection of the article approximately three to four months after receipt. The journal also accepts proposals for thematic sections. Proposals by guest editors should include a summary of the thematic section, a list of authors and their affiliations, and the abstracts of planned articles. Articles for the section may be written in Slovenian or (American) English. The editorial board approves the proposal for a thematic section proposal based on quality and available space in the journal. After submission, all articles are reviewed according to the procedure described above.
