Abstract

This paper is a contribution to the narratological studies of modern prose writing which exemplifies its tendency for radical paradigmatization of its structure. Paradigmatization is meant not only as a concept of literary theory but also as a philosophical one with largest historical implications. The research is preliminary and it discusses the fundamental concepts, such as (1) the structure of a literary work of art vs. ordinary language organization and (2) poetry vs. prose. In part (3) it explains the notion of paradigmatization and its alternative possibilities and critically confronts the problem of paradigmatic principle with Lotman’s notion of prisoedinenie.
