Who Chooses the One Who Chooses? On a Forced Choice of Shakespearean Epistemology and Textology

The choices made by the dominant literary criticism on behalf of the readership are themselves made in advance by institutions that reproduce this criticism. The impact of such choices on the selections made by current Shakespeare studies is analyzed and an alternative reading of Romeo and Juliet is outlined.References
