Abstract

The paper addresses the following three issues: the urgent need for integrated studies; the concept of “interface” as it was used in the European project Acume 2: Interfacing Science and Humanities to question the static idea of “influence” on behalf of the interface as isomorphism of two fields that have developed new theoretical tools simultaneously by responding to their respective problematics; and the methodology and results of two case studies carried on by both scientists and humanists: a study of memory and a study of bio-complexity.
